Introduction to Long-Reining Clinic

Long-Reining is a division that is brand NEW to NAWD for 2017! No matter what age or discipline, your will horse develop better control, balance, and confidence through these NAWD Long-Reining Exercise Tests.  This clinic will be hands on instruction on how to begin long-reining your horse safely, including desensitizing them to long lines as well as introducing the horse and handler to some great beginner exercises. For this clinic Double Lane Horsemanship will be providing the horses to be used for all of the demonstrations and hands on instruction.  THERE WILL BE NO HAUL IN HORSES! NAWD Trail Clinic

NAWD Trail is a new division which includes tests that will ask you to demonstrate how well you and your horse are connected mentally and physically and how well you can maneuver your horse while still maintaining rhythm and relaxation. This clinic will focus on the basics of riding a trail test and executing the specific maneuvers. NEW this year is NAWD In-hand Trail Tests! We will begin the clinic with an introductory of Western Dressage Trail in the lounge. If you would like to haul-in please bring a current negative coggins.

NAWD 6ft on the Ground Clinic

Work on the ground will always make your ride better under saddle. Six Feet on the Ground is done completely in hand where the horse will be asked to perform certain maneuvers while still maintaining the rhythm, relaxation, connection, impulsion, and straightness that is desired in dressage. We will begin the clinic with an introductory to this discipline in the lounge.  You are welcome to haul-in but please bring a current coggins. DLH horses may be available for use if needed.

LIVE! NAWD All-Around Freestyle Show!

Starting at 10 am Saturday June 24th at Western Trails Equestrian Center

Classical Principles can help any horse become a better partner and improve his performance for any discipline. NAWD All-Around Freestyle Tests contain required maneuvers but then open the door for you to show your stuff and include other disciplines, obstacles and anything else you can come up with all to be judged using the Dressage Scoring system. Some examples may be: gaming patterns, reining moves, trail obstacles, cutting, cattle working, mounted shooting, carrying a flag, roping, garrocha, working equitation obstacles, etc. These are just a few examples. 
(costumes and music welcome, but not required)

2017 Tests and guidelines will be available by May 20th!

Tests: 2017 All-Around Freestyle Tests Intro, Basic, Level 1, 2 & 3; 
 2017 Six Feet on the Ground Freestyle Test

Fees: $30 per test        
 $15 office fee


Divisions: Youth (12yrs & under)    Junior (13-15yrs) Senior (16yrs & older)
(Ages as of Jan, 1 2017)
***Ribbons will be pinned and divided according to number of participants in each age group and test level.

Riders/Handers must supply their own music, props and prop set up crew. Each routine will be allowed 4 min time to set up and take down of props. Please bring music on a device that will hook to an AUX cord or play by Bluetooth. 
 

*All handlers will be required to fill out a liability form upon arrival and present a current negative coggins!


















Jackpot Trail and Workshop

4:00pm Friday July 21st at Western Trails Equestrian Center LLC
6675 Hwy WW West Bend, WI 53090

Come out to Western Trails Equestrian Center LLC to participate in our Jackpot Trail where we will be having a 50% payback!
Prize money will be awarded 1st-5th placings and ribbons will be awarded 1st-10th. Ribbons will split  into age divisions if we have enough riders and Payout will go to the top 3 riders in each age division. 

The Jackpot will begin at 5:00pm with a walk-thru of the course followed promptly by the competition. 

Each run through of the obstacle course will be $20,additional runs will be discounted at only $10per run.

Prior to the Jackpot we will be offering a Workshop starting at 4:00pm, where you can practice riding your horse through some of the obstacles. The Workshop costs $20 and will run approximately 1 hour.
Riders are welcome top participate in either the Workshop or Jackpot separately or receive a $5 discount if you attend both! 

Pizza and drinks will be available for a charge of $5 per pseron. 

During the Jackpot, you will be allowed a certain amount of time to complete the obstacles. Each obstacle will be worth a certain amount of points based on the level of difficulty. You may complete each obstacle twice but you do not need to ride through all of the obstacles. However, bonus points will be rewarded if all obstacles have been completed. 

Double Lane Horsemanship has the right to excuse anyone from the arena/property if needed.

Please bring a current negative coggins for your horse.
